About this blog

I set up this blog in January 2011 hoping to add to the wonderful writing that exists on the internet revolving around Manchester United. The reason for using the title "Written Offside" for my site was originally to reflect a different slant on the club but was also a reminder that it is dangerous to ever write United off as I have found numerous times in my lifetime.

I have been a supporter of the club for nearly thirty years. I have fond memories of 1983 with the FA Cup win over Brighton making up for the Milk Cup loss to Liverpool earlier that season.

I have continued to support United through the lows of the latter part of Atkinson's management and the early years of Alex Ferguson to the wonderful highs of winning the Premier League in 1993, the treble in 1999 and the Champions League in 2008.

My favourite players over the years I have supported the club include Bryan Robson, Jesper Olsen, Mark Hughes, Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes and Roy Keane.

This blog has evolved into regular posts previewing and reviewing first team games and also featured posts regarding topics of interest.

I also have set up a facebook page where I will post links to the best of the newspapers each day and also post links to not just my articles but also the best of the United blogs.

I have found the use of Twitter a wonderful medium to meet other like minded supporters. Please feel free to follow me and let me know your thoughts on the club and my posts.

I am always on the lookout for talented writers to contribute to the site so please get in contact if you are interested via the Contact us page or  message me via Twitter.

Many thanks for your support and I hope you enjoy what you read.
